What PLVision LTS for SONiC® Is
PLVision LTS for SONiC® addresses this operational gap. It gives customers a supported way to implement Community SONiC in production without taking full responsibility for release selection, platform validation, patch planning, troubleshooting, and long-term lifecycle maintenance.
PLVision selects and validates a SONiC baseline, pairs it with qualified hardware, hardens it for a defined deployment model, and maintains it through a structured lifecycle, so you don’t have to carry that burden alone.
What You Get
PLVision LTS for SONiC® gives customers a supported, validated SONiC-based operating environment that feels closer to a bundled commercial solution, while still preserving the openness of Community SONiC.
Security patches, critical fixes, upgrade guidance, and release documentation within the agreed support phase
Documented feature support and approved hardware platforms for the selected deployment model
A stable Community SONiC-based software foundation selected, validated, and maintained by PLVision
Clear EVPN fabric scope, topology assumptions, and operational boundaries
A defined support path backed by PLVision engineers for the validated software and hardware scope
Deployment, configuration, upgrade, and troubleshooting materials for Day 1/Day 2 operations
Why Community SONiC Alone Is Not Enough for Production
Community SONiC gives organizations openness, hardware choice, and freedom from proprietary NOS lock-in. For teams with strong internal SONiC, Linux, SAI, validation, and lifecycle expertise, a self-managed model can work.
Most production operators face a different reality. They want the benefits of Community SONiC, but they also need a validated software baseline, supported hardware, predictable updates, clear documentation, and accountable engineering support.
Running Community SONiC in production without that structure means owning release selection, platform validation, patch planning, troubleshooting, and long-term lifecycle maintenance internally. That requires dedicated engineering resources over the long term, and for most operators, it’s not their core business.
Deployment Scenarios
PLVision LTS for SONiC® is designed for data center fabric deployments based on validated EVPN architectures and supported hardware platforms. Choose from three deployment models to suit your needs.
For environments that need a simpler EVPN-based fabric with centralized routing and controlled operational complexity
For production fabrics that combine Layer 2 extension with distributed routing capabilities
For scalable data center fabrics that require more advanced routing, segmentation, and multi-tenant readiness
Lifecycle Model
PLVision LTS for SONiC® is a curated and stabilized SONiC distribution with a fixed baseline and defined lifecycle.
PLVision selects and freezes a baseline, validates it against the agreed hardware, feature set, and deployment scope, and maintains it through a defined lifecycle. Each release runs through three phases:
Full maintenance, engineering support, security patches, critical bug fixes, approved backports, and supported HCL updates.
Continued support, security patches, and critical fixes, but no new feature expansion.
After the support period ends, customers must migrate to a newer LTS version or agree on an extended support arrangement.

Support Model
PLVision LTS for SONiC® is available through a tiered support model, from guided pre-production evaluation to full production support for live data center environments.
Who PLVision LTS for SONiC® Is For
PLVision LTS for SONiC® is designed for organizations building Whitebox-based leaf-spine fabrics and looking for a production-ready way to use Community SONiC without owning the full software lifecycle. It is the right fit for teams needing a validated baseline, predictable patching, documented guidance, support accountability, and a stable foundation for customization.
