Igor Salamin, Head of Human Capital at PLVision, judged the presentation of innovative projects by the students of Lviv Polytechnic University’s IoT Program co-founded by PLVision

The Internet of Things enables smarter daily operations, both for businesses and individuals. This makes it one of the most future-proof courses of study chosen by IT students. PLVision is one of several co-founders of the Internet of Things Bachelor’s program at Lviv Polytechnic National University and is proud to be further contributing to the development of innovative education in Ukraine. At the end of this past academic semester, Igor Salamin, the Head of Human Capital at PLVision, judged the project presentations of first- and second-year IoT Program students from Lviv Polytechnic National University, together with other jury members.

Over three sessions this winter, in December and February, around 200 IoT program students, split into teams, presented their projects online for members of the committee, which included practicing professionals with a wealth of experience in the technology industry. The presentations were followed by grades and detailed recommendations from the jury, motivating the students towards further growth and improvement.

The range and relevance of the projects’ topics proved to be striking — starting from the household innovations to VR solutions for medical students, educational platforms, and even smart devices for the agricultural industry. The committee members found that the professional level of students’ projects and presentation skills have continued to improve year by year. Furthermore, many projects were of sufficiently high caliber and detail that they are ready to be demonstrated to investors.

“As a regular jury member for end-of-semester final projects, I can say with confidence that the students’ understanding of professional practices and the quality of their projects has continued to improve significantly. This means that the joint efforts of universities, mentors, IT volunteers, lecturers, and the students have been producing tangible outcomes that are valuable for the entire IT industry,” said Igor Salamin, Head of Human Capital at PLVision and a representative of the Lviv IT Cluster Education Committee.

We at PLVision are proud of these young Ukrainian innovators and will continue further empowering the IoT Program students through our unique expertise in computer networking and embedded systems. We are looking forward to the final project pitches of the program’s second-year students, which will take place in May.
