We are proud to announce that Andriy Kokhan, PLVision’s Networking Solutions Architect, will speak at the OCP Global Summit, held November 9-10, 2021, at the San Jose Convention Center. The annual Summit brings together thousands of key decision-makers, executives, engineers, developers and suppliers. Andriy will present SAI Challenger, a SONiC-based test framework developed by PLVision and available in open source.

SAI Challenger is a fast, simple, and efficient way to secure the quality of SAI-based solutions. Closely simulating a NOS environment, this test framework requires minimal effort to detect flaws in SAI/SDK effectively regardless of the ASIC vendor. It represents a re-imagined approach for SAI testing, based on SONiC’s native infrastructure. SAI Challenger applies to a wide range of cases, including SAI integration with SONiC, interoperability with external PHYs, and beyond. Some of its beneficial key features include:

  • SAI multi-version support
  • Unit, functional, and integration testing
  • SAI test cases development in a simulated environment (on top of libsaivs)
  • Gearbox (PHY) SAI testing (work in progress)
  • Simple CLI for SAI debugging

Andriy will dive into SAI Challenger’s use cases, operation modes, and features. To learn how you can simplify your SAI testing by adopting this test framework, be sure to attend his session within the Networking stream on November 10, 2:25 pm – 2:50 pm (Pacific Time).

About OCP

The Open Compute Project Foundation (OCP) was initiated in 2011 with a mission to apply the benefits of open source and open collaboration to hardware and rapidly increase the pace of innovation in, near and around the data center’s networking equipment, general purpose and GPU servers, storage devices and appliances, and scalable rack designs. OCP’s collaboration model is being applied beyond the data center, helping to advance the telecom industry & EDGE infrastructure.
