We are thrilled to announce that PLVision, a software product development company with a strong focus on network operating systems, is to present the enhanced SAI Challenger solution at the 2022 OCP Global Summit. PLVision’s Lead Solutions Architects, Andriy Kokhan and Taras Chornyi will be joined by Ankur Sheth, Director of Virtualization at Keysight Technologies, to speak at the summit held on October 18-20, 2022, at the San Jose Convention Center.

The speakers will present a new functionality and use cases of SAI Challenger, a SONiC-based test framework initially developed by PLVision and contributed to OCP. PLVision has combined its experience in disaggregated networking software systems (SONiC OS, SAI, DASH) with Keysight’s experience in test and measurement solutions and products to provide the best open testing solution for SAI.

SAI Challenger is a fast, simple, and efficient way to ensure the quality of SAI-based solutions. With its close simulation of a NOS environment, this test framework requires minimal effort to detect flaws in SAI/SDK effectively regardless of the ASIC vendor. This is a one-stop solution for SAI testing – from simulation to emulation and hardware.

In 2021, PLVision offered SAI Challenger to the community and contributed it to OCP. Over the last year, we have been working with our clients and partners in the industry to identify the most desired features and use cases for SAI testing and have significantly enhanced our solution.

Here are the key highlights:

  • Support for a hardware traffic generator
  • Complex topologies
  • Support for hardware emulation targets
  • New southbound interfaces
  • DASH/PHY use cases

In collaboration with Keysight, PLVision added support for a vendor-agnostic, open, model-driven, traffic generator API, snappi. It allows the user to execute the same test case in different environments starting from software simulation all the way up to hardware-based high-speed line-rate traffic generators.

To learn how you can improve your SAI testing and speed up the time to market for your final solution with SAI Challenger, be sure to attend the session of Andriy Kokhan, Taras Chornyi, and Ankur Sheth as part of the Networking stream on October 20, 10:20 am (Pacific Time).
