PLVision’s membership highlights the company’s dedication to delivering open-source software innovation for the needs of switching silicon and OEM, ODM vendors.
PLVision, a software product development services company, specializing in Computer Networking, Embedded Systems, and IoT Connectivity, announced today its participation in the Open Compute Project (OCP) as a Community Member.
The Open Compute Project (OCP) is a collaborative, global community focused on redesigning hardware technology to efficiently support the growing demands on compute infrastructure. The organization was initiated in 2011 with a mission to apply the benefits of open source and open collaboration to hardware and rapidly increase the pace of innovation in, near and around the data center. OCP members include industry leaders such as Facebook, Google, Intel, NVIDIA, Cisco, and Microsoft.
This new commitment emphasizes PLVision’s continued focus on the custom development and integration of open systems, including OCP’s software like SONiC (Software for Open Networking in the Cloud) and SAI. SONiC-based services are one of the company’s key offerings in its portfolio.
In addition to empowering leading switching silicon, network hardware vendors, and ambitious startups to launch innovative products, PLVision also contributes to open source with its own R&D projects and has been a co-creator of ONF’s Stratum. Among the company’s recent open projects are SAI Challenger and the extension of Mininet-based FRR test framework.
“Active involvement with the Open Compute Project is of strategic importance to PLVision, and we are looking forward to bringing in our unique software developer’s perspective to the community,” said Olena Kozlova, CEO at PLVision. “Our aim is to leverage our expertise to further co-create cutting-edge solutions that bridge hardware and software while empowering the advancement of Open Networking.”
