Responsibilities
Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and automated regression tests
Test networking functionality across virtual and physical environments
Validate routing, switching, network configuration, traffic forwarding, and failure-recovery scenarios
Develop automated tests using Python, PyTest, and Bash
Analyze logs, routing tables, interface counters, and packet captures to investigate issues
Configure and maintain Linux-, Docker-, and QEMU-based test environments
Integrate automated tests into CI pipelines and analyze test failures
Report defects with clear reproduction steps and supporting technical evidence
Collaborate with developers and network engineers during requirement reviews, troubleshooting, and release validation
Maintain concise test documentation and communicate quality risks and testing progress
Requirements
5+ years of experience in software QA, network testing, or test automation
Strong Python skills and hands-on experience with PyTest
Practical experience with Bash and Linux environments
Good understanding of Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP, IPv4/IPv6, VLANs, routing, and switching
Familiarity with dynamic routing protocols such as BGP or OSPF
Experience creating test plans and testing integrated networking systems
Experience with Git and CI tools such as Gerrit and Jenkins
Hands-on experience with Docker or virtualized test environments
Ability to troubleshoot issues using logs, CLI output, routing tables, and packet captures
Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and communicate effectively within a cross-functional team
Proficiency with traffic-analysis tools such as Wireshark and TCPDump
Technical English at an intermediate level or higher
achelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecommunications, Networking, or a related field – or equivalent practical experience
Would be a plus
Experience with FRRouting (FRR)
Knowledge of routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, and BFD
Experience with Docker, QEMU, or network-emulation tools
Hands-on experience with Ethernet switches and routers
Experience with traffic generators such as Ixia, Spirent, TRex, Ostinato, or Scapy
Familiarity with Ansible and network-configuration automation
Experience testing network resiliency, convergence, scalability, or performance
Understanding of SONiC architecture, Redis databases, SAI, or switch hardware abstraction
