PLVision, a custom software product development company focused on open networking systems, announced today its participation in the Telecom Infra Project (TIP) to contribute to the development of open network infrastructure solutions.

Co-founded by Facebook, Intel, Nokia, Deutsche Telekom and other operators in 2016, the Telecom Infra Project is a collaborative global community focused on driving infrastructure solutions to advance worldwide connectivity. With hundreds of members, it includes service providers, technology partners, systems integrators, and other connectivity stakeholders, all committed to creating high-quality open solutions.

This new commitment emphasizes PLVision’s continued focus on the custom development and integration of open software like SONiC NOS and DENT OS, along with their validation and adaptation for the network infrastructure needs of various markets.

PLVision not only empowers leading market players and ambitious startups to launch innovative networking products but also has a long history of contributing to open-source NOS communities. As a member of the Open Compute Project, the company contributed its SAI Challenger solution for SAI testing and prototyping. PLVision has also co-developed ONF’s Stratum, which included the contribution of TAI integration.

Recently, the company has launched a unique SONiC Core initiative to speed up networking innovations by bringing Community SONiC to the next level of user experience. Contributing the in-demand functionality to open source will help SONiC meet the needs of new markets like Tier 2 DC, Enterprise, and the Edge.

“We have been leveraging our unique engineering expertise in seven top switch silicons and various open NOS to help our clients launch new products, which shows that PLVision’s participation in open communities has always been an integral part of its work”, said Olena Kozlova, PLVision’s Co-founder and CEO. “Our membership in TIP highlights our dedication to open collaboration and the acceleration of innovation. We are looking forward to bringing in our perspective to the community and helping to broaden access to networks worldwide”.
